The train...

We had a GREAT CHRISTMAS! I think Quinn got everything on her list and then some. Maclain loves his Thomas train although it is taking him a while to figure out how to hold the foot petal down so he can drive all the time. Quinn helped him by giving him a ride Christmas morning. Quinn was thrilled with her nail sparkler and drawing set plus lots of clothes from Grammy and Papa, clothes and makeup from Aunt Katie and Uncle Matt, and the Password Journal from The Boeckmanns. Maclain got a fun video game from The Boeckmanns, clothes and a play vacuum from Katie and Matt, and a car, a race set, a basketball hoop and clothes from Grammy and Papa. Gigi and Mel gave Quinn a snow cone maker that she was really wanting and Gigi made a car blanket for Maclain that he loves. I can't believe this was only one side of the family and we still have Christmas in MN with the Felber side. I don't know if we even have any more space in the playroom. Thanks to my family for making Christmas special again for my kids this year. It's not just the gifts, it is the fun and just being together that made it really awesome. love you guys!

Bad night

Ok...I feel like I am the worst mom ever...Maclain has had a few rough nights sleeping, and I rocked him to sleep last night, put him in his crib and he instantly woke up. I decided not to fight it and after I rocked him the second time let him sleep next to me. I propped up pillows around him, but somehow he pushed them all over and rolled right off the bed. He woke up screaming at 5 on the floor. I rushed out of bed to find him on the floor with a bloody nose.
I cleaned him up and the bleeding had already stopped. He seemed fine and wanted to be rocked again. Finally around 5:30 I got him back to sleep and laid him on the floor so I could get ready for work. When Mark woke him up to get him ready for daycare he asked for the Tylenol. I asked why and he said Maclain looked like he was in a fight with Mike Tyson. When I saw him I wanted to cry...ok I did, most of the way to work. When I dropped him off at Judy's he was thrilled to see a Life size singing Santa and went right to Judy without a second glance at me. I guess I may be more traumatized than he was.

Visiting Santa

Maclain wanted to see Santa and he sat in awe on Mark's shoulders as we waited. When we got up to see him he stared at his beard. When we started to try and get him to smile for the picture he saw me and started to then get nervous. That is why the video is short. But we did get some pictures and he did give Santa a hug before we left. Quinn was very excited to sit on Santa's lap and tell him her wishes. It was a fun time...and now we will wait to see what Santa will bring.

Making cookies and dinner at Gigi's

We made Christmas cookies on our snow day this week! We all went to Kamber and Jamie's to bake and decorate. It was a lot of fun...Gigi, Katie and I were also there but we some how didn't get in the photos that Kamber emailed me. I walked out of my house without my camera that day, so I was at the mercy of other people for pictures. It was a fun day and got me more in the holiday spirit. I will try to add pictures of Gigi and Katie later if I can get Kamber to send me some.

We also were at Gigi and Mel's for supper the night before. Grandma made us some yummy fish and we played the Wii. Quinn decided to use Maclain's blanket to play Mary...so cute! She has such an imagination!

Decorating with Grammy

Last week I had both kids at the doctor and they both had ear infections. After our doctor appointments we headed to Grammy's to help her decorate one of her trees. We also made banana bread and Maclain had to help too. Fun Day!

Frosty time

Kamber had class last night so I had the boys. Everyone has colds and not feeling well so I put in Frosty the Snowman and we cuddled in. I love the way these two are dancing and the way Maclain can say "Frosty". He got much better as the night went on too...he said it over and over for a long time. These two are going to be great buddies.

Happy Thanksgiving!

What an awesome week we had! I loved being off so I could spend time with the kids and Mark. We had a delicious Thanksgiving meal with mom and dad, Katie and Matt, and my Grandma and Mel. Kamber and Jamie were at his parents but came over later that night. My mom decorated the table so beautifully and even gave the kids an early present...their ornaments for the year.
We also took advantage of our time at home by decorating the tree and hanging outside lights up. What a great weekend.

Our Dancing Queen

Quinn's FAVORITE activity is dancing! She is definitely my dancing Queen. She cracks me up with her facial expressions and her moves. Listen to how Maclain hates that I am not giving him full attention...at bed time he wants books and mommy. He wasn't getting it so he was not happy.

First written Christmas List

I was so impressed that Quinn sat down and wrote this whole Christmas list by herself! I decided I better translate (in the blue pen) for those of you who don't see Kindergarten writing every day...I have gotten very good at reading some very tough words over the years.
I just think it is so cute! I also love that she is asking for a new toothbrush. At least she is practical. I am just not sure she needs an ipod at her age, but she LOVES to sing and dance so it may be a good buy.
We are off all next week from school for the Thanksgiving break...so Christmas will be here before we know it.

Big News!

Katie and Matt are expecting! We are so excited to be adding another family member in June!
Quinn spent so much time coloring this poster...just wish Maclain would have tried as hard with the presentation!

Great ending to a wonderful weekend...

Grammy found out that they were doing the play THE WIZARD OF OZ at West Delaware where I went to high school. How ironic that they were doing this play and the kiddos were these characters for Halloween...and it was the same weekend. So she got tickets and we all headed to the new auditorium. WOW! It is very impressive...I couldn't believe this was my old school. It is wonderful, and the play was amazing! The sets, costumes, acting and singing were all terrific. I felt like I was at a college production. And leave it to small town hospitality...they had ruby slipper cookies set out for a treat...and it was free! Sometimes I miss that. I love living where we do, but it was nice to see so many familiar faces and seeing that the whole community was out to support this show. It was the final show of 4, and it was a packed.
You may have also noticed Curious George in a lot of pictures from the weekend. Quinn was chosen to take home the traveling class pet and journal this week. What good timing! We were able to show George a great time!

Our first haircut and the limo ride...

Well, Saturday was the day we have been looking forward to for a few weeks. Quinn and her family got picked up in a limo to go to her first free haircut. If you don't know what I am talking about, look at a few posts ago and check out the bedhead. She won a contest for having the best bedhead and so today was the first one. WOW! What a cool place! Whipper Snippers is definitely an awesome place to take kids for haircuts! Quinn got her hair cut in the diva area by Makenzie. She is the manager and she is awesome! Quinn had fun getting her hair cut and styled. She also got to watch Hannah Montana on the big screen and got lip gloss too. Definitely in a cool diva girl area! I also decided Maclain REALLY needed a cut too, so he sat in the car (how cool is that) to get his cut too. This was the first time he got the clippers, so he looks like a big boy now. He liked the car and cartoons for awhile, but then didn't. Every haircut he has had so far has been on my lap, so we may have to to do that next time.
Whipper Snippers has a Diva area, the kid area, and an area for bigger kids that has big screens and xbox games. So if you have kids it is a definitely awesome place to take a kid for a haircut!
After the limo brought us home, we all headed to Olive Garden to keep the celebration going. My grandma met us at both because she thought she would get sick in the limo. Katie and Matt and Kamber and Jamie were at two separate weddings so they missed out on the fun.
It was so awesome listening to the kids scream and yell as the limo was pulling down the street, and to watch Quinn sit in awe as she got her hair cut. What a fun day...

Happy Halloween From the Felbers!!!

What a fun night! The gorgeous weather made it the perfect night for trick or treating. It was 60 degrees out and the kids were loving it! After our fall party at school, Quinn and I went to pick up Maclain at daycare. Judy, his daycare provider, had a little party planned so we stayed there for a while and we enjoyed watching all the little ones dressed up. Then we went home, had dinner and hit a few houses in our neighborhood. After that we went over to mom and dad's so that Dorothy and the flying monkey could join up with the Tin Man and the Lion. The kids got lots of compliments on their costumes, tons of candy and memories that will last.
